Stuffed & Chocolate Covered Figs



1 package (450g) Dried figs
100g Walnut Pieces (shelled)
3 tbsp Orange Rind (grated)
6 Dried Bay Leaves


Cut open each fig but leave them attached at the stems. Fill one side of each fig with the walnut pieces and a sliver or two orange peel pieces. Press the other half of the fig with the walnuts and press to seal. Arrange the stuffed figs on a baking pan layered with parchment paper, sprinkle with the remaining orange peel. Bake in preheated 350ºF oven for 10 minutes or until the figs turn light brown. Remove the figs from the oven and let cool completely. Layer a sealable container with the bay leaves and add the baked figs. Seal the container and the figs will keep for up to 3 months.


For a extra sweet treat, roll the figs in cinnamon sugar & vanilla crystals before baking!

Also, try dipping the baked figs in melted chocolate and let cool.  Chocolate covered figs will be a guaranteed success at your next dinner party!
